Multicultural Family Church is a non-denominational, Bible-teaching church located in Brandon, Florida, a suburb of Tampa. We exist to raise up genuine followers of Jesus who are committed to multiplying disciples. We strive to be a church where ethnic and generational diversity, solid biblical teaching, and strong community and discipleship are visible and measurable. 

Role Summary

The Next Gen Pastor provides spiritual leadership, vision, and oversight for all ministries from birth through college. This includes leading and developing the Kids and Youth Ministry teams, shaping a unified discipleship pathway for the next generation, and partnering with families to raise lifelong followers of Jesus.

While this role oversees all age groups, the Next Gen Pastor will personally focus on teaching and relational ministry in Youth (middle school–college) and provide strategic leadership for the Kids Ministry, ensuring that every age group is loved, led, and discipled effectively.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vision & Leadership

  • Develop and implement a clear discipleship strategy for kids, youth, and young adults that aligns with the church’s mission and values.
  • Provide leadership, support, and accountability to the Kids Ministry team and youth/college leaders.
  • Cultivate a Spirit-filled, prayer-driven ministry culture centered on community, worship, God’s Word, and prayer.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Pastor and other ministry leaders to integrate the Next Gen vision into the overall life of the church.

2. Youth Ministry (Primary Teaching Focus)

  • Lead and teach weekly youth gatherings and small groups for middle school through college students.
  • Build intentional relationships with students and mentor them in their walk with Christ.
  • Plan and lead youth events, retreats, and outreach opportunities throughout the year.
  • Empower students to serve within the church and their community.

3. Kids Ministry (Leadership Oversight)

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Kids Ministry Coordinator and Kids Ministry Volunteers Team.
  • Oversee the annual Kids Ministry calendar, ensuring alignment with the overall Next Gen vision.
  • Ensure the use of age-appropriate, biblically solid curriculum that engages children in both English and Spanish contexts.
  • Support the Kids Ministry team in maintaining a fun, safe, and nurturing environment.

4. Family Partnership & Community Engagement

  • Equip parents as the primary spiritual leaders of their children and students.
  • Communicate regularly with families (in both English and Spanish as needed).
  • Foster partnerships with local schools, universities, and community organizations to reach the next generation.
  • Help bridge key transitions between age groups (preschool–elementary, middle–high school, high school–college).

5. Team Development & Administration

  • Recruit, train, and disciple volunteers across all Next Gen ministries.
  • Lead regular team meetings for encouragement, prayer, and development.
  • Oversee the Next Gen budget and ensure wise stewardship of resources.
  • Maintain strong communication, organization, and safety systems across all ministries.

Measurable Outcomes

The success of the Next Gen Pastor will be evaluated by:

  • Spiritual Growth: Observable spiritual development and engagement among students and families.
  • Volunteer Development: Growth in both the number and maturity of leaders serving in Next Gen ministries.
  • Program Health: Consistent attendance and participation in Kids, Youth, and College gatherings.
  • Family Engagement: Increased parent involvement and satisfaction in partnership with the church.
  • Vision Alignment: Strong collaboration with other church ministries to create a seamless, church-wide discipleship strategy.

Qualifications

  • A growing and mature relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Multicultural Family Church.
  • Formal ministry training required — minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry or a related field. Formal training below a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry such as seminars, certificates, associates, or internships paired with extensive experience in NextGen Ministry will also be considered. 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in youth and/or children’s ministry.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to teach God’s Word effectively and relationally.
  • Skilled in leadership, organization, and volunteer development.
  • Creative, flexible, and passionate about equipping the next generation to know and follow Jesus.
